Hi, I'm Cory Maggio

I help people buy and sell homes across the Santa Clarita Valley. That is the whole business — one valley, known properly, rather than a wide territory known in outline.

About

One valley, known properly

I grew up here. I went to Saugus High School, studied small business management at College of the Canyons, and finished a B.A. in Business Leadership and Communication at CSU Channel Islands. When I talk about knowing this valley block by block, that is not a marketing line — it is just where I am from.

Today I work the Santa Clarita Valley as a Realtor with RE/MAX Gateway: Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, Newhall, Saugus, Canyon Country and the communities around them. That focus is deliberate. Real estate is a local business, and the details that decide whether a purchase goes well are local details — which tract carries a special assessment, which floor plan resells better, which street backs onto the freeway, which canyon parcel is going to be difficult to insure.

Most of what I do is not showing houses. It is the work that happens before and after — pulling comparable sales, reading disclosures properly, knowing which inspector to call for a canyon property, and telling clients plainly when something does not add up. The touring part is the easy half.

The business background matters more than it sounds. A transaction is a negotiation wrapped in a deadline, and both halves reward preparation. You get the benefit of that preparation whether you are buying your first home or selling one you have owned for thirty years.

How I work

  • Tell people the truth, including when it costs me a sale

If a house is wrong for you, or your asking price is not supportable, you will hear it from me before you find out the expensive way. An agent who only agrees with you is not adding anything.

  • Do the homework before it is needed

Comparable sales, property history, HOA documents, assessment records. I would rather have the answer ready when the question comes up than promise to look into it.

  • Answer the phone

In a market where good listings move in days, responsiveness is not a nicety. Call, text or email — whichever you prefer — and you will hear back.

  • Explain the reasoning, not just the recommendation

You should understand why we are pricing where we are, or why an offer is structured a certain way. A decision you understand is one you can defend when it is challenged.
